Frequently asked questions
Do I need a doctor's referral?
No. Under Enhanced Care, counselling is pre-approved for 12 sessions in the 12 weeks after your crash. You only need an active ICBC claim number.
What if I was at fault?
It doesn't matter. BC's system is no-fault, so anyone injured in a crash is eligible for treatment, including drivers found responsible.
My crash was months ago. Am I still covered?
Very likely yes. After the 12-week window, we submit a brief treatment plan to your adjuster. Most are approved within days.
Will I ever get a bill?
No. We bill ICBC directly at the approved rate and do not charge user fees.
Is online counselling as effective as in person?
For trauma, anxiety and pain-related work, research shows comparable outcomes. If you'd prefer in person, we have rooms in Vancouver and Surrey.
Can I book for a family member?
Yes. Start the form on their behalf and we'll contact them directly. Family counselling is also covered under the injured person's claim.
Will my counsellor share notes with ICBC?
Only the minimum required for billing and extension requests: attendance and a brief progress summary. Session content stays confidential.
Still deciding? Don't.
Your first session is an assessment. We will work out the right approach together, and it costs you nothing to ask.
